Amber Alerts are effective
According to statistics, when parents suspect that their child has been abducted, it triggers their child safety plan. They will have four options in getting crucial information immediately to law enforcement*:
Parents should direct law enforcement or emergency personnel to the Our Child Safe website and provide them with their password and username to download their child's profile
Parents may go directly to the Our Child Safe website to access their child's information and send that file to any e-mail address they choose.
Parents may access the Our Child Safe child's profile and download that info onto their computer for disbursement as they see fit.
Parents may download the file onto a flash drive that they may keep with them at all times, for immediate access to their child's information when web access is not available.
*Once law enforcement has been notified about an abducted child, they must first determine if the case effectively meets the AMBER ALERT Child Safety Plan's criteria for triggering an alert
